Malon - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Yet another zelda fanart! I guess ocarina of time is such an Iconic game I couldn't resist doing ganon! It was first sculted on Zbrush and then shoved into blender for retopo, the textures were made on substance painter, I guess this is the reason why my room was so hot this summer haha! 

I didn't really like ganon's design in smash bros ultimate and i always wonder how this fearfull creature would look like in hd, that's why i tried to recreate the dark lighting of the orignal OOT, i think it makes him look so much more terrifying! They did such a wonderfull job with the lighing, composition and silhouette that I can only try to imitate such great scene! 

It was also mainly modeled with the original ganon artwork for ocarina of time, as there was no other artwork in this style, it made the whole thing much harder but it was a fun creative exercice, having reference is good and using them is appreciated but i just love wondering how something would look like in 3d, and is to me a usefull skill.

A modeling exercise. I decided to do a cucco from "Ocarina of Time" because they're adorable. I tried out making the wings with individual feathers, but I think I got a little carried away with the tail feathers.

(I think I applied all of the modifiers on this version though, so the mesh might be a bit of a mess if you download.)

Zoomorphic ocarina, with the image of a spider monkey seated and with hits legs bent, with the left hand resting on the knee. The figure wears a twisted fabric as necklace and oversized elongated ear pendants. As an instrument it has 3 chambers, with a blow chamber in the upper section. The mouthpiece of direct blow, on top of the head, makes it look bulgy. It has 2 tone holes (one on the front and two on the back (Rodens et al, 2013: 134)

The ocarina features a blowing mouthpiece at the top of the head and three tone holes. The figure wears a tall headdress with round appliqués, a banded necklace, tubular earspools, wristbands, and a textile belt knotted at the front. It is a direct-blown instrument.

Anthropomorphic Polyglobular Flute

Zoomorphic ocarina representing what appears to be a small canid (dog). The piece is made of  clay with an orange polished surface. The features are modeled with incisions for the head and face. Traces of blue paint on its ears. It is an instrument with 3 globular chambers in a ""V"" or ""L"" arrangement, with two pairs of tone holes in the chambers that correspond to the head and the front body. The mouthpiece, of direct blow, is in the part that corresponds to the tail of the figurine.

This was a pain to model. The 64 has such strange geometry... But I still love it.

This is a 3D model of artifact 60 E, a Maya ocarina found in the Paynes Creek Salt Works in Belize. It was made using the Revopoint Pop 3 Plus 3D scanner.

A two-chambered polyglobular ocarina with a connecting tube and two tone holes or shutters (one in each globular chamber). It has traces of orange and black paint and what appears to be stucco. Rodens et al. (2013) classify it as a polyglobular flute (p. 138).

Man with reptile or iguana disguise

From site 57-I, the David Westby Site in Ek Way Nal, Belize. Hammond 2017 theorized that these styles of figurines are made to reresent boxers and ritual boxing.

The front of the piece is decorated with a modeled figure of a seated male character with crossed legs, a protruding belly, and scarification markings on his forehead. He wears a headband, beaded necklace, round ear ornaments, and a belt, all applied using the appliqué technique. Traces of blue paint remain on some areas of its surface.

Molded zoomorphic ocarina with hand-modeled details, representing a quadruped animal with an anthropomorphic head. The figure wears a headdress that appears to be a feline over a diadem decorated with incised vertical lines. As a musical instrument, it features three globular chambers and three tone holes; the blowing mouthpiece is located in the figure’s open mouth. According to Rodens et al. (2013, p. 146), this example is classified among polyglobular flutes.

Ocarina modeled in the shape of a ring with a direct-blowing mouthpiece at the top and two tone holes. The ocarina is decorated with a medial molding around the rim and the torso of a figure, possibly the Maize God, modeled and attached over the center hole. The deity has an elongated head and arms flexed across its chest. It wears a three-banded headdress with feathers, round ear ornaments, a necklace of spherical beads, and wristbands. The tips of the feathers and the jewelry still retain the blue paint.
