Crime Scene Description

This diorama represents a Victorian-era indoor death investigation, inspired by the analytical style of classic Sherlock Holmes cases.

Scene Overview
The decedent is discovered slumped in an upholstered armchair within a private study. The posture suggests sudden incapacitation, not sleep. No visible signs of struggle are present in the immediate area.

This model was generated from 417 images taken with Go Pro Hero 9 camera, using Agisoft Metashape softwarfe at low resolution. The photogrammetric survey was undertake after Spring tides has removed the overburden of windblow sand. In contrast to the survey undertaken on 14 November 2022, where an overburden of sand is evident. The wreck is that of the Francis Beddoe, a wooden ketch of 250 tons built at Saundersfoot in 1872  - it was the last vessel from the yard of Francis Beddoe on Railway Street (now The Strand). There are numerous small mentions appearing in the Shipping Intelligence columns of newspapers noting cargos and voyages - e.g. carrying maize, gravel, sand, slate from Porthmadoc and coal to ports such as Newport, Ulveston, Glasgow, Whitehaven, Bristol, London, Exeter, Bideford, Barnstaple, Boscastle, Carnarvon (from Thompson's colliery), Dundalk and Coleraine. This model was generated from 466 images taken with an Olymppus TG-6 using the Agisoft Metashape software. The wreck is a local landmark on the beach at Pendine, South Wales, and is the Francis Beddoe, a wooden ketch of 250 tons built at Saundersfoot in 1872. It was the last vessel from the yard of Francis Beddoe on Railway Street (now The Strand). The ketch was originally registered at Milford Haven and was the property of widow Mrs B Maria Beddoe, after her husband died. Short reports appear in local newpapers relating to incidents in the ketch's service life, such as a court case in where a deposit had been paid for the vessel to the executor of Francis Beddoe's will, but the vessel was actually sold to another person.The ketch was bound from Bideford to Tenby with cargo of gravel when it went ashore on Pendine Sands on 8 March 1924.
