Revuelto 3.0™️

Micro CT scan of a young chimpanzee skull from the D’Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum at the University of Dundee.

Pan sp. - Chimpanzee. DUNUC 2404 & 2404/1. Length=15cm. Acquired by D'Arcy Thompson from William Cross of Liverpool in 1886. Writing to his grandfather, D'Arcy noted: “I yesterday received a chimpanzee, one of the most manlike of apes; it is the rarest and most valuable specimen I have yet had... One of the young Doctors came and helped me to remove its brain at 11 o’clock at night. It was in beautiful condition. I shall be able to make a whole series of preparations besides cleaning the skeleton and stuffing the skin.” The stuffed skin and the brain are also still in the museum.

Scanned with a Nikon XT H 225ST micro CT scanner. The resulting file is exported as an stl. and imported in to Zbrush. Texture is added from photographs using the Spotlight function and Polypainting.

Modern Kitchen

This is an OEM leather racing seat used for tunning purposes. These shapes are very difficult to model properly as small variations can make a big difference in the comfort.

This is a great example of how peel 3d can be used in engineering. This component was scanned directly, without any preparation, we simply put a few targets in the back of the seat to improve tracking.  This scan would be perfect to keep as a reference for competitive analysis

## Scanning
The motorcycle was scanned in IR-mode on the Rigil using 1.5mm resolution and feature tracking without connection to a PC. The picture of the bike misleads about the lighting conditions (modern smartphone witchery be thanked): the place was too dim for texture tracking and in these cases better results can be achieved by only using feature tracking. For scanning itself I didn't do any preparations like scan spray and focused on the both sides by using the saddle as the connection for switching sides.  
While scanning the Rigil held a constant 20 FPS (if texture tracking would be also enabled for hybrid tracking FPS will be lower). Scanning itself took roughly 5min.

## Post-Processing
Post processing was done on my workstation and included generation of the point cloud and subsequent meshing in recommended settings. Since it came out to 15M triangles I reduced it to 4M so the scan could be uploaded to Sketchfab.

Honda Motorcycle - Einscan Rigil IR Scan

## Scanning
The motorcycle was scanned in markerless alser mode on the Rigil using 1mm resolution and feature tracking without connection to a PC. For scanning itself I didn't do any preparations like scan spray and focused on the both sides with one scan per side whilst ensuring enough overlap for easy alignment in later steps.  
While scanning the Rigil held roughly 20 FPS. Scanning itself took roughly 5 to 10min per side, so a a bit longer than in IR mode (was using 1.5mm there though). 

## Post-Processing
Post processing was done on my workstation and included generation of the point clouds, automatic feature alignment and subsequent meshing in recommended settings. Quicksurface was used for alignment to the coordinate system and reduction of the point cloud size. Since it came out quite large I reduced it to 4M so the scan could be uploaded to Sketchfab.

BMW Motorcycle - Einscan Rigil Markerless Laser

Low-poly 3D model of a market stall with vegetables, created with a strong focus on optimization for game projects. The work combines simple geometry, clean detailing, and expressive materials, achieving a visually rich result while keeping the scene lightweight.
The model features a wooden stall structure, a fabric canopy with a distinctive striped texture, and a set of crates filled with vegetables — each asset group was developed individually and fits together into a cohesive composition. Special attention was given to the shapes: slightly softened edges, simplified silhouettes, and clean geometry create a neat and unified appearance.
The project was created in Blender, including modeling, UV unwrapping, and asset preparation. The final scene, lighting, and rendering were done in Unreal Engine 5, allowing for soft cinematic lighting, atmospheric depth.
The model is suitable for use in games, visualizations, and realistic environments, including market scenes and urban settings.

Low Poly Market Stall — Game-Ready Asset

Photogrammetry reconstruction of The Three Fates Fountain located in St Stephen’s Green, Dublin.
The model was captured using image-based reconstruction and processed in RealityScan, followed by geometry cleanup, mesh optimization, and alignment in Blender.

Due to reconstruction issues with reflective water surfaces, an additional scan was used to replace and refine the fountain water geometry before final merging and decimation.

This model was produced as part of a virtual field trip assignment demonstrating capture, reconstruction, mesh editing, optimization, and real-time deployment preparation for Sketchfab and Unity.

Realistic Pitbull Fighting Ring Diorama

I created a stylized 3D model of Grogu — a small, charming character with big glossy eyes, rounded ears, and a calm, friendly pose. The design is built on simple, soft shapes to highlight his cartoon‑like personality and warm, cozy presence.

The materials were tuned to make the skin look smooth and gentle, while the robe feels soft and slightly voluminous. Subtle color transitions and soft lighting enhance his natural cuteness and give the model a warm, inviting mood.

A small stylized coffee preparation set created in Blender.
The scene includes several common coffee-making objects arranged in a simple lineup, making it suitable for prop practice, stylized environments, or learning renders.

Adventure Preparation

This event came on a short notice with short timeframe. In addition, i only read the date and not the time. Had just added a wash to deepen and drag the shadows together so that it might dry over night for me to give it another coat of paint during the day - when i read, window closes at 2.00 during the night. Too late to finish it for a proper entry. A bit of hairdrying and some poor mobile-pics just to show what i was working on. Just not enough time for my way of creating&painting. Usually have the oils dry for a day or 2 between layers. Anyways...

This model of the human skull slowly "explodes" to reveal the structure of the component bones, much like an animated version of the classic physical  Beauchêne preparation of an exploded skull. This model is the first in a series of human skull models on Sketchfab that will annotate various features as an aid to learning human skull anatomy. We launch it now to mark the WitmerLab Sketchfab site having reached 10,000 followers. This skull specimen (OUVC 10503) was CT scanned at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital in Athens, OH, under funding from NSF. It was previously published in 2008: http://bit.ly/2LLot8M. Roasting Of The Boar

Scotty is the nickname for the Tyrannosaurus rex fossil, catalogued as RSM P2523.8, that was discovered in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1991. The fossilised remains were painstakingly removed, almost completely by hand, over two decades from the rock in which they were embedded. When the preparation was complete in 2011, a ~65% complete T. rex skeleton was revealed.
