Rocca Calascio is a mountaintop fortress or rocca in the Province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo, Italy.
Built of stone and masonry exclusively for military purposes and intended only to accommodate troops and never as residence for nobles, the fortress overlooks the Plain of Navelli at one of the highest points in the ancient Barony of Carapelle.

Construction of the fortress started in the tenth century as a single watchtower. A walled courtyard with four cylindrical towers at the corners around a taller inner tower was added in the thirteenth century. The lower half of the fortress is built with distinctively larger stones than its upper half. It is believed that this feature was to make its base impenetrable to invaders. The fortress was never tested in battle. However, it was badly damaged in November 1461 by an earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7 to 8 on the Richter Scale.

Santa Muerte & Requiem for the Sketchfab

The archaeological ensemble of Melque is one of the most important historical sites of the High Middle Ages in Spain. It is located in the municipality of San Martín de Montalbán, just 30 kilometers from the city of Toledo. It consists of a very well preserved church, a monastery, several dams and a fence or wall. However, there is no consensus among experts about the date of its foundation. Some authors date it in the seventh century, in Visigothic times, while others consider that it was founded in the eighth century by Mozarabs, that is to say by Christians but under Muslim domination. The place was inhabited for centuries which has allowed the preservation of the church in an excellent state to this day.

Documented by Global Digital Heritage in September of 2018 using 1110 drone images, 112 terrestrial laser scans, and 1702 terrestrial photogrammetry images. These data were processed in Reality Capture.

Monastery of Batalha in Portugal or [Santa Maria da Vitória na Batalha](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batalha,_Portugal) was created to honor Virgin Mary for the victory of the Portuguese over the Castillian crown. 

After the death of Ferdinand I (1383), there was a succession war between Ferdinand's daughter Beatrice, queen of Castile and Ferdinand's half brother, John I. The battle of Aljubarrota was the decisive moment which marked the victory of John, the founding of the Aviz dynasty (1385-1580) and the beginning of military alliance between England and Portugal. This alliance is still active today (800 years old) and was used during the second world war.

The battle was also an important mark in the 100 years war. It was one of the many losses the French suffered. A trend that was changed later by Jeanne d'Arc.

Santa´s sleigh (WIP)

The hermitage of Santa Coloma located in the Guadalajara region of Spain is one of the jewels of Spanish Romanesque art. Built possibly in the XII century after the Christian conquest of this territory, its most valuable element is its apse. The windows are decorated with beautiful latticework carved in stone. The hermitage was reformed and enlarged in the XV century. 

The model was made in Reality Capture software using 419 images captured with a DJI Phantom 4+ drone.  

We want to thank the Diocesan Delegation of Cultural Heritage of Guadalajara, especially its cultural delegate Mr. Miguel Ángel Ortega Canales, for the facilities they have given us and for the interest they have shown in the project.

Not far from the Nuraghe Losa, we find one of the best-known and most fascinating monuments in Sardinia: the well temple of Santa Cristina.  This underground temple certainly represents one of the peaks of nuraghic architectural mastery. It is constructed of perfectly squared stone blocks forming an access stairway leading down into a chamber with corbelled ceiling of exceptionally good workmanship. The water still today reaches the bottom of the chamber, filtering through its walls. Near the meeting hut there are some rooms with square, rectangular and circular ground plans, only the bottom courses of which remain: almost certainly these were lodgings for the priests of the water cult and the pilgrims, but there must also have been small sales stalls for the market held on the occasion of religious celebrations. The Cathedral of St. Mary of La Seu Vella (150 km from Barcelona)is considered a Romanesque work, although it has elements of Gothic architecture and some Renaissance additions. The site was previously occupied by a Palaeo-Christian and Visigothic cathedral, which later, after the Islamic conquest of Spain, was rebuilt in 832 to be used as a mosque. "La Manola" is the colloquial name for a sculptural fountain made of cast iron, approximately 3.20 meters high, located in the central area of the Parterre gardens, in the vicinity of the church of Santa María in the town of Daimiel (Ciudad Real, Spain). This composition was manufactured in the Mac Naughtan Bros foundry in the city of Glasgow based in Valencia, being installed in Daimiel in 1891.

The figure represents an upright young woman with her head slightly tilted to the right side of her. She is half-naked, dressed only by a cloth that partially covers her body. She presents her hair gathered and ornamented with a flowery crown. On her right shoulder he carries a cornucopia, while in her left hand he holds a bouquet of various flowers. The sculpture sits on a wide open-profile cup, decorated on its external face by bearded male masks. The iconographic attributes of her infer, although with a certain stylistic uncertainty, that she could represent the goddess Fortuna of the Roman world.

**Polychrome wood carving (14th-15th century).**

Originally from the Church of Santa María de Tábara and currently on display in the permanent collection of the Zamora Museum (Spain).
I created this model from an incomplete and low-quality photogrammetry image. I processed it with Reality Capture and had to discard the texture of the original model due to the poor lighting quality. I then used Blender to complete the parts of the sculpture that were not captured (mainly the back). Next, in ZBrush, I sculpted the reconstructed parts and integrated them with the original photogrammetry. Finally, I recreated the texture with Substance 3D Painter, reproducing the current state of the piece. The deterioration of the polychrome layer and the damaged stucco layer reveal the wood beneath in some areas.
