SHUTTER GIRL

Built in 1672-87 by Sir Christopher Wren, The Church of St Stephen Walbrook is considered to be his masterpiece. Built before St Paul's Cathedral the dome of St Stephen was therefore a prototype for the one at St Paul's.

In the Second World War the church was hit by a bomb. The dome was repaired and due to damage to the centre of the floor and the small size of the old altar, the church was converted to 'in the round' and a central altar installed. The current altar stone is by Henry Moore.

2392 photos taken in July 2023 with a Sony a7R III and processed in Agisoft Metashape. Quality is a little lower than my normal models as I was visiting as tourist so shot quickly while camera in silent shutter mode.

Roller Shutter Door

This two-story, low-poly 3D building serves as a gritty centerpiece for an urban or industrial environment, blending commercial functionality with a sense of weathered realism. The ground floor features expansive storefront windows and heavy duty rolling metal shutters, one of which is tagged with blue graffiti, suggesting a corner store or workshop layout. Above, a deep set balcony with simple iron railings is shielded by a corrugated metal overhang, adding depth and shadow to the concrete facade. The structure’s heavily stained textures and utilitarian details, such as external HVAC units and adjacent wooden utility poles, evoke a lived in, atmospheric quality characteristic of a neglected city district or a post apocalyptic setting.

A two-chambered polyglobular ocarina with a connecting tube and two tone holes or shutters (one in each globular chamber). It has traces of orange and black paint and what appears to be stucco. Rodens et al. (2013) classify it as a polyglobular flute (p. 138).
