This does not look really impressive so far, but the technique seems to work fine and I guess that further experiments could only make for some future nicer models !

Note that using transparency planes (3 x 225 in this case!) is quite resource-intensive, and the model might only work fine on desktop.

Refraction is the phenomenon that makes light bend when passing through different transparent materials due to the velocity of light changing in different media. It makes objects behind the refractive material look distorted. Refraction is useful for simulating glass, water, gemstones, and many other transparent materials.

Droid Tri Fighter

As it appears to be a trend, a small WIP diorama ([Nice one here!](https://skfb.ly/6xvV6)) just to try out some lighting technique for an incoming model (not a WIP I hope).

The refractive "box" around the model is just eye-candy, what was really of interest to me was to get an idea about bubbles (spheres with an emissive material coupled with dithering transparency), sun rays (elongated planes with blending opacity and a light emission to them) and the ground lights (not done well here, but basically voronoi textures to simulate the effect of waves on the light, baked on the ground model).

The ground is a quick and ugly dyntopo sculpt done in blender, while the little fish are just a particle system set with a lowpoly mesh as render object.

A nice point to spend time on will be the ocean surface, to do with the appropriate modifier in blender, and a refractive/small-scale-roughness/foamy-at-the-edges material.

Plus, I should try to animate rays, bubbles and fish (as boids) to give it a living touch.

The other day I learned how to use the transparency feature on Sketchfab and I decided to quickly create a realistic 3D eyeball!

Low-Poly Retro PS1-style model of an original car design featuring hand-painted texture work meant to resemble the look of car models in Gran Turismo 1 & 2.

The car itself - the “Horai BX300” - is a fictional Flat-6 powered all-wheel-drive sports car from the 90s, based on the Subaru SVX and the R32 Skyline GTR.

Ripple Towers

Finely worked anthropomorphic figurine carved from quartz. The head, exhibiting clear Olmec traits, appears not to correspond to the body, whose standing pose with hands joined at the front is highly atypical. Even the color of the stone and its degree of transparency differ between the two parts. The figure wears a garment resembling a long robe tied at the waist with a cord. The Cultural Property Registry classifies this piece as originating from the Highlands and dating to the Classic period; however, if only the head (apparently genuine) is considered, it would likely date to a much earlier time.

Worn-out Telephone Booth (PS1)

After 9 months away from the software, I wanted to see if I still had the "muscle memory." This piece was created as a "re-entry" project to Blender after a long hiatus. This abstract form started with a few basic commands and evolved into this prismatic structure. It’s a study of transparency, curvature, and the way light dances through digital glass.

Back in the Blender

This is a modern architectural 3D model of a terminal building characterized by its extensive use of glass and geometric lines that create an aesthetic of transparency and openness. The name of this model is The Glass Haven Terminal. The building features multiple levels with each level featuring protruding sections that add depth and dimension to the overall design. The glass walls allow natural light to permeate the structure and offer visibility from both inside and outside. The white frames outlining the glass panels create a contrast that accentuates the modern aesthetic. The roof is flat with slight inclinations complementing the geometric design elements present throughout the structure. Darker materials are used in some sections of the exterior providing contrast and breaking up the dominance of glass and white elements.

Concept & Objective
The goal of this project is to create a visualization of a mock product, "Iron Warrior Energy Drink", blending technical precision with bold branding aesthetics.

Creative Process
- Modeling: The bottle was constructed using polygonal modeling techniques, ensuring accurate proportions and clean topology suitable for both visualization and animation.

- Texturing & Shading: Materials were carefully developed to capture the glossy finish of the plastic, the transparency of the liquid, and the vibrancy of the red energy drink. Advanced shaders were used to simulate bubbles and internal reflections.

- Label Design: The label design is largely AI-generated using Gemini. However, further modificatiD surface, isualization styles were produced—realistic render, wireframe, and transparent render—to showcase different stages of the creative pipeline.

Tools & Techniques
- 3D Software: Autodesk Maya for modeling and rendering
- Texturing: AI-Generated with modifications using Photoshop
