Pirene or Peirene is the name of a fountain or spring in Greek mythology, physically located in Corinth. It was said to be a favored watering-hole of Pegasus, sacred to the Muses. Poets would travel there to drink and receive inspiration.

In the 2nd century CE the traveler Pausanias describes Pirene as follows:

On leaving the market-place along the road to Lechaeum you come to a gateway, on which are two gilded chariots, one carrying Phaethon the son of Helius, the other Helius himself. A little farther away from the gateway, on the right as you go in, is a bronze Heracles.

3D scan of a Plateosaurus (*Plateosaurus trossingensis*) skeleton. *Plateosaurus trossingensis* was an herbivore, “prosauropod” dinosaur with a small skull but a long neck and tail. This skeleton consists of original bones, as well as 3D print-reconstructions; details can be seen in the graphic below.

In general, Asian elephants are smaller than African elephants and have the highest body point on the head. The tip of their trunk has one finger-like process. Their back is convex or level. English Archer Helmet, 15th ct., 1.6 mm steel. This particular helm is based not on what the nobles might have worn, but instead, on what the typical troop would have favored, possessing a straight-forward design that is both effective and protective, being shaped similarly to a barbute, of later 15th century Italian descent. It is made entirely from 16 gauge steel and features rivets about the skull-cap, as well as protection on the sides and back of the head and face, while leaving the front open, so as to not interfere with an archers vision or draw. The interior of the helmet also features a leather liner with an adjustable chin strap, which helps to make the helmet all the more comfortable and easy to wear. The helmet is based entirely on a historical piece, which is held in the Royal Armouries, in Leeds, England.

**Triceratops ignifrons: A Landmark Ceratopsid Discovery in Alberta**

In 2022, paleontologist Dr. Miriam Solano uncovered a striking ceratopsid specimen in the Horseshoe Canyon Formation of Alberta, Canada. Named *Triceratops ignifrons*—“Fire-Frilled Three-Horned Face”—this quadrupedal herbivore measured over 9 meters in length and featured an unusually elaborate frill with spiked margins and preserved pigment structures.

Spectroscopic analysis revealed traces of structural coloration, suggesting vivid blue, orange, and red hues across its frill and flanks. This challenges prior assumptions that ceratopsids relied solely on size and horn morphology for display. The discovery of *T. ignifrons* provides compelling evidence for visual signaling in herbivorous dinosaurs and deepens our understanding of social behavior and predator deterrence in Late Cretaceous ecosystems.

Moschops (misspelled "Moshops" in Carnivores 2) is a four-legged herbivorous synapsid that is featured as an ambient animal in Carnivores, Carnivores 2, and Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter.
A very abundant large herbivore, it can often be found grazing across suitable habitats of FMM UV-32 using its short chisel-like teeth well suited for cropping vegetation. A very unique beast, Moschops' hind legs extended straight down like mammals', while its front legs extended outward and than downward like a reptile. Very skittish, this animal will flee at the first sign of danger. Moschops' diet is mostly plants, although it will occasionally eat meat in times of hunger.

Moschops ("calf-faced") is an extinct genus of therapsids (non-mammalian synapsids) that lived during the Permian period, 265-260 million years ago. Its hind limbs were small, while its forelimbs were powerful.
