Lion Crushing a Serpent (1832)
by Antoine-Louis Barye (1796 - 1875)

Although his contemporaries criticized his style and his choice of animal subjects, Barye is today esteemed as the founder of the Parisian animaliers.
The noble lion, representing the new King and the people of France, is shown in a triumphant struggle against the serpent, symbolizing Charles X (reigned 1824–1830) and the ousted Bourbon dynasty. The pair additionally suggests a celestial sanction for Louis-Philippe’s reign by alluding to the constellations of Leo (the lion) and Hydra (the sea serpent), which “ruled the heavens” during the days of the July Revolution (July 27-30, 1830).

The scanned sculpture is a copy made by Guy Hain, who is a French art forger who produced number of fake bronze sculptures.
The Lion is located by the entrance of Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen.

Testing out some fake volumetric based on C++ generated noise images...

This does not look really impressive so far, but the technique seems to work fine and I guess that further experiments could only make for some future nicer models !

Note that using transparency planes (3 x 225 in this case!) is quite resource-intensive, and the model might only work fine on desktop.

Mandalorian - Grogu ( The force )

Wanted to make use of the long rendering time for commissioned work, so I decided to upload my recent castle build.

This build project was originally just a gradient palette test using the quartz, bone, mushroom stem, and diorite block. Then I decided to make a castle using that palette, with the angular roof style similar to the Minas Morgul of the LotR series. I've added animated gates with soundeffects using command blocks, and custom monsters that spawns randomly in the castle.

Unfortunately had to change the design before uploading because Mineways doesn't export armorstands, shulker boxes, and custom textured player heads.

Built in Minecraft ver 1.11 using default texture. Map clean up with WorldEdit and MCEdit. Exported with Mineways (still getting misplaced blocks). Unwrapped uv in ZBrush. AO, light, and gradient map (for fake fog) baked in 3ds Max. Beacon light beam and snow particles added in 3ds Max.

Yarnaby is a aggressive feline that has a jaw or mouth sideways. He has a cute face but there where a hidden murderous spot on his face. Yarnaby has a fake face and his real face is his sideways jawline with sharpt teeth.

Sketchfab does not yet import the GLB camera animations. As a workaround, this model keeps the camera fixed and instead moves and rotates the whole world.

IMPORTANT: adjusting the camera position/rotation will ruin the trick so do NOT click and drag with your mouse.

Clearly lighting goes wrong, it's not possible to have shadows on the ground and the background picture does not make sense but it still looks pretty cool and gives a nice demo of the power of camera animation.

BluffTitler 16.6.0.6 features a FAKE CAMERA checkbox in the FILE > EXPORT AS MODEL... dialog to automate this camera trick:

Tractor manufacturer JCB has just broken the world record for the fastest tractor. WolFarmer took on the challenge and achieved a remarkable feat.

New speed record! This time, it's not a Bugatti Chiron, a Hennessey, or any supercar. It's none other than a JCB tractor! WolFarmer, a seasoned driver, pictured here with his machine, achieved this feat at the wheel of his JCB RacerX: he was clocked at 246.2 km/h.
Obviously, it's not the standard model that's capable of going as fast as an Audi RS6. It has been modified to allow its 7.2-litre diesel engine to develop 1000 horsepower and 2500 Nm of torque.

WolFarmer And His JCB-X Racer

Gibson Technology, or simply Gibson (formerly Zytek Engineering), is a British motorsport company founded in 1981 by Bill Gibson.
Lawrence Tomlinson, driver and owner of LNT Automotive, is a shareholder in Zytek/Gibson. This explains the connection with the car manufacturer Ginetta, which was itself acquired by LNT Automotive in 2005.
In 2014, Zytek Automotive was acquired by the German tire manufacturer Continental AG. Zytek Engineering, remaining independent, was renamed Gibson Technology.
In 2026, Gibson partnered with the same musical instrument brand to create its sports car: the Les Paul 2006 SP with Ted McCarty. I'm taking this opportunity to create my 600th drawing using SketchFAB.
Too bad, it's fake news, but it would be fantastic if it could inspire them!
