Stránská skála (often without diacritics as Stranska skala) is a hill and refers to a Mid-Pleistocene-Cromerian interglacial most important paleontological site in Central Europe.  Its northwestern slope is composed from karstified limestone cliffs in which numerous fossiliferous fissures and caves were found. Approximately 48 meter (157 ft) of this slope are covered by complex talus fan.

3D scan of an original fossilized skeleton of a giant deer (*Megaloceros giganteus*) found in Ireland from the Late Pleistocene (ca. 12,000 years old). The males had a shoulder height of around 2.1 meters and their antlers are the largest known in any deer with a width up to 4 meters. The giant deer disappeared around 11,700 years ago in Europe, like many other animals from the Ice Age.

The skeleton of the giant deer can be found in Hall 16 at the NHM Vienna.

Giant Deer (NHMW-GEO-1876/0030/0003)

3D scan of an original fossilized skeleton of a saber-toothed cat (*Smilodon populator*) from the late Pleistocene. It was found in Río Areco in Argentina and is about 40,000 years old. 

The skeleton of the saber-toothed cat can be found in Hall 16 at the NHM Vienna.

The mammoth was a genus of pachyderms that lived 
during the Ice Age. There were many types of mammoth that ranged in size from as tall as a giraffe to as short and plump as a pig. The species appearing in Carnivores Ice Age and Carnivores: Ice Age is a woolly mammoth, a species covered in coarse hair that lived throughout the Northern hemisphere during the Pleistocene. Mammoths were similar in shape and form to modern elephants, but most species were larger, with longer tusks and smaller ears, and often a shorter tail.

Mammuthus is an extinct genus of proboscidean mammals in the family Elephantidae, commonly known as mammoths. They existed from approximately 4.8 million years ago until just 3,700 years ago, during the Pliocene (Late Neogene), Pleistocene, and Holocene (Quaternary) epochs. Numerous species have been described, with the woolly mammoth being the most well-known.

The "clawed marsupial sentinel" refers to Thylacoleo carnifex, known as the Marsupial Lion. It was Australia's largest predatory mammal, living from the Pliocene to the late Pleistocene epoch (approx. 2 million to 40,000 years ago). It is known as a "sentinel" or "fearsome predator" for being the top carnivore of its time, occupying an ecological role similar to big cats today.

This model was obtained by applying advanced photogrammetry technologies and cutting edge techniques currently not applied to this field that have allowed me to recreate previously unattainable models like Harbin, Yunxian 2 and now HLD-6. This model represents a reconstruction of the HLD-6 cranium from the Hualongdong paleoanthropological site in Dongzhi County, Anhui Province, China.

The HLD-6 individual lived during the late Middle Pleistocene, approximately 300,000 years ago. Stratigraphic and geochronological studies place the Hualongdong hominin assemblage between roughly 331–275 thousand years ago.

This digital reconstruction was created using published anatomical descriptions and visual references from the study “Craniofacial reconstruction and morphological analysis of the HLD-6 skull” (Acta Anthropologica Sinica, 2025) and scaled using cranial measurements from the supplementary dataset of “The phylogenetic position of the Yunxian cranium elucidates the origin of Homo longi and the Denisovans.”
