The Three Graces, celebrated in classical literature and art, were the daughters of Jupiter (or Zeus in Greek mythology), and companions to the Muses. Thalia (youth and beauty) is accompanied by Euphrosyne (mirth), and Aglaia (elegance).It was commissioned from Antonio Canova by John Russel, 6th Duke of Bedford, who visited the sculptor in his studio in Rome in 1814, and was captivated by the group of the Three Graces which Canova had carved for the Empress Josephine, the estranged wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. She had died in May of that year, and the Duke offered to buy the group from Canova, but Josephine's son claimed it, and that version is now in the Hermitage, St Petersburg.

Noone can ignore this big statue found in the Napoléon Courtyard of Louvre Palace. It is a copy in plomb of the original statue in Versailles, made by Bernini and Girardon.

# Process

* The initial mesh was remeshed to an intermediate object with Meshlab (quadric edge collapse decimation) and **mmgs** (6.8M -> 950k tris)
* Details (ropes and sword) were splitted from the horse body (mark sharp edges -> edge split -> separate), and batch remeshed for better results.
* The resulting meshes (70k tris total) were then manually unwrapped (+manifold edges seams) and merged.

The material was created from scratch on the high resolution object before being baked to 2K textures:

* Bronze patina on the top
* Mix of metals on the body
* Smoother metal on the edges

The bust of Napoleon Bonaparte

The Lion of Aspern is a war memorial created by Anton Dominik Fernkorn, which was erected in 1858 at Asperner Heldenplatz (today a district of Vienna). The sculpture is made of sandstone and commemorates the Austrian soldiers who died in the battle of Aspern.

Fernkorn created a larger-than-life sculpture of a lying, dying lion on a stone base with an oak leaf garland on a stone foundation. Between the front paws is a Napoleonic eagle, under the body an emperor's cloak, and on the left side of the body are field signs. The lion is pierced by a lance whose tip protrudes behind the left shoulder blade of the animal below the mane.

The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile; lit. 'Triumphal Arch of the Star') is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, France, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle, formerly named Place de l'Étoile—the étoile or "star" of the juncture formed by its twelve radiating avenues. The location of the arc and the plaza is shared between three arrondissements, 16th (south and west), 17th (north), and 8th (east). The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Arc de Triomphe

A PBR sword. From Wikipedia: The Pattern 1796 Light Cavalry Sabre is a sword that was used primarily by British Light Dragoons and hussars, and King's German Legion light cavalry during the Napoleonic Wars. It was adopted by the Prussians (as the 1811 pattern or "Blücher sabre") and used by Portuguese and Spanish cavalry.

For over 200 years, Brandenburg Gate has been an icon for a transforming German identity. Brandenburg Gate was commissioned by Prussian Emperor Frederick William II, to represent peace at the end of the 18th Century. When Napoleon invaded Berlin in 1806, he sacked the bronze quadriga and took it back to Paris. After Napoleon's defeat, the quadriga was returned, with an added Iron Cross to commemorate the victory.

Martello Tower (DU005-033) No. 10 on Shenick's Island, inside a promontory fort (DU005-116), 1km east of the north Dublin coastline protecting the strand at Skerries, Fingal.  Red Island Martello Tower No. 11 (DU005-018) visible 1.6km to the NW,  Drumanagh Martello Tower No. 9 (DU008-006003) stands 3.7km to the south. One of 12 ordnance towers constructed to the north of Dublin Bay in 1804 by Colonel Benjamin Fisher of the Royal Engineers in order to defend the Dublin coastline from a French Naval invasion during the Napoleonic Wars (1803-15). Two storey high circular shaped rubble built tower covered with a lime render. Tower was entered through a 1st floor doorway on the landward side accessed by an external ladder protected by a projecting machicolation.  The gun platform supported a 24-pounder cannon enclosed by a parapet wall carried on a cut stone string course.
