This is a detailed 3D model of a traditional Beijing Siheyuan, the iconic courtyard residence known for its classical Chinese architecture. A siheyuan is a type of dwelling commonly found throughout China, especially in Beijing and rural Shanxi. Throughout Chinese history, this layout was the foundational pattern for residences, palaces, temples, monasteries, family businesses, and government offices.

Hey, I did #256fes challenge this weekend (<256 tris polycount, 256x256 diffuse). 

Seems like 20min adventure, until you spend the whole budget on a single shoe - then things get interesting.

Arcane - #256fes fanart

A 3D model inspired by the The Vast Land / [A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wang_Ximeng),  by Wang ximeng, a painter of the Norther Song dynasnty, China. Painted in 1113, Wang Ximeng was only 18 years old when he painted the master piece. To the disappointment of everyone, including the artist Emperor Huizong, who personally taught him, Wang Ximeng died shortly after, depriving us of any further masterpieces. The painting is now in Palace Musuem Beijin, and was influiential for many generations to come!

Made in Houdini and textured in Blender.

That is what the Swedish explorer Sven Hedin called [Wan fa Gui yi Hall in the Putuo Zongcheng Temple, Chengde](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Putuo_Zongcheng_Temple). In 1929, Hedin travelled to China with the mission to procure a Lamaistic temple to the World Exhibition in Chicago in 1933. An exact model was manufactured at the architect W. H. Liang's workshops in 1932 in Beijing. Two smaller models in scale 1:10 were also made. One of them was sent to Chicago as well. The other was taken to the Ethnographic Museum in Stockholm. Kang Jin Long - Introduction

Kang Jin Long, belonging to the dragon, is Kang. Protected by the big horn, it is one of the twenty-eight constellations in Chinese mythology and the second constellation in the east. It is the god of wind, like a fire bead, located at the neck position in the Canglong constellation, and is the essence of the Canglong, so it is named Kangjinlong. Its appearance and temperament are similar to those of a dragon. It is long, has scales, can fly, and is good at walking. In ancient books, people often see it playing in the water.

In "The Romance of the Gods", its original name is Li Daotong. After being killed in the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation, it was deified.

In "Journey to the West", it once helped Sun Wukong escape from the golden cymbals.

Japanese Gates "Torii" (Low Poly)

This skull is a composite reconstruction of the *Homo erectus* specimen recovered from the cave of Zhoukoudian near Beijing, China. Peking Man is an East Asian subspecies of *Homo erectus* that evolved into modern Han Chinese. This fossil was discovered in 1923 during excavations in Zhoukoudian cave system outside of Beijing. This skull is dated to around 750000 years old and represents an important lineage of humans, helping modern scientists explain the range expansion of *Homo erectus* and the modern human populations of China. Along with the skull, researchers also found evidence of tool usage and fire construction, which supports the idea that *Homo erectus* was the first hominid to use tools.
