Costume: Lipochka, "It's a Family Affair..."

This model boat comes from the collection of [Dundee HeritageTrust](http://www.dhtcollections.com/) looking after [Verdant Works](https://www.verdantworks.com/), also known as Scotland's Jute Museum, telling the story of Dundee's textile industry. 

This is a model of a river boat which is typical of the type of boat used for carrying raw jute from the fields.  It has a curved shape wooden cabin with basket roof and on the side reads 'Pak Jute Mill Ltd' in white.

The 3D model was created by the Scottish Maritime Museum as a part of the Scanning The Horizon project, working with collections from Industrial Museums Scotland ([Go Industrial](http://www.goindustrial.co.uk)).

The 3D model presents a digital look of a historical costume from a Russian lubok print “Rayok” dating to the 18th century. The costume was made for a theatrical performance «Indecent is decent» (Ivanovo State Museum of Local History named after D.G. ## Scanning
Scan was done in IR mode with 1mm resolution and large mode. For tracking only feature tracking was used (texture would have helped but the light was dim and flickery so no real help...). The final result consists of two scans (top and bottom) to capture the whole armchair. Between the scans I had to turn the chair around so I made sure to capture all cushiony parts in the top scan so when they are deformed after turning I already captured them. When having relatively smooth textile without much wrinkles for tracking you can always try

## Post-Processing
Just point cloud generation and meshing at recommended settings (meshing as semi-watertight) on my workstation (simply faster than on device). Alignment was done in Quicksurface as well as reduction or triangle count (from 14M to ~3M).

The spatha is a type of straight, long sword. It is characterised by its double-edged blade. It is typically held with one hand and is primarily used for cutting. The edges of this specimen curve inwards slightly towards the rounded, relatively short tip. The central part of the blade has grooves. Faint remnants of the wooden scabbard are visible on one side of the blade. Small areas with textile impressions are visible on both sides.

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.

Spatha

Polychrome drum of the type known as Pax, classified as an “arm drum.” The surface is decorated with ten figures identified as musicians and dancers.  Within the latter group, a principal dancing figure is depicted performing with two sticks tipped with pompons, wearing a knotted maxtatl and a feathered headdress. Behind him, three seated figures appear to observe him with open mouths, as if singing; one of them holds a turtle shell. In front of the dancer, a procession of three figures advances toward him, wearing textile headdresses and jaguar-skin skirts, and carrying what appear to be rattles in their hands. Probably from the Alta and Baja Verapaz region. The piece has been restored.

Drum

LOKA 02: Bhuvar (Atmospheric Plane) is the V2 “cable-relief” disc of the LOKA series, encoding Kolam threshold geometry as thick ritual cords over a nearly flat floor. 

The pattern is generated from analytic symmetric rose-curve weaving on a pulli grid (rigorous C₄ symmetry): a central mandala, 7 concentric weave rings, 24 weave bridges, and an outer border garland. 

V2 amplifies the textile logic into sculpture: cable width 2.5× (0.050R) with a cos² profile, ring height boosted to 1.80, a near-flat base floor (0.02), and pulli dots rendered as hemispheric bumps (h=0.80). 

Hopf streamline grain and deep groove shadowing add “stone + cord” realism.

Mesh: 57,170 verts / 114,336 faces, closed orientable manifold (χ=2, watertight). 

Z range [−0.219, 1.872], surface area 205.23, unique colors 18,502.

Anthropomorphic Polyglobular Flute

The 3D model presents a shape for testing virtual textile materials created by unifying geometries of body scans. The initial raw scans were obtained using a VITUS smart 3D scanner. The scans were processed in Rhino and 3dsMax. The shapes are displayed on a scale grid with an 1 cm spacing and UV maps (the maps are not to scale).

Zoo-anthropomorphic whistle in the form of an elderly figure emerging from a shell, possibly representing God N or a Pahuahtún. The face of the aged individual is clearly defined, with pronounced wrinkles and a semi-open mouth; the hands project outward over the edge of the shell. The figure wears a textile band and jewelry (two round earspools and a necklace with a pectoral) accented with blue details.
