This 3D skull model was created by laser scanning the Museum's iconic *Diplodocus carnegii* cast.

Rotate, zoom in and explore the features of this popular dinosaur.

Dippy was the first *Diplodocus* (DIP-low-DOCK-us) to go on display anywhere in the world when it was gifted to the Museum in 1905. It quickly became a star, capturing hearts and imaginations.
Dippy then left the Museum in 2017 to complete a whirlwind tour of the UK. The skeleton will be on display at the Museum from 27 May until 2 January 2023.

To mark this event, we have prepared a set of 3D printable files which can be downloaded and printed on a conventional desktop 3D printer and assembled to create a three-quarter scale model of the skull, or a model which can be compiled from laser cut sections of cardboard.

Subsurface Scattering (SSS) Demo: Lara

Refraction is the phenomenon that makes light bend when passing through different transparent materials due to the velocity of light changing in different media. It makes objects behind the refractive material look distorted. Refraction is useful for simulating glass, water, gemstones, and many other transparent materials.

To see for yourself how refraction works, just rotate the model, paying attention to how the shell appears to distort beneath the egg white.

Refraction Demo: S**t happens

I used python and blender to precisely position (units are [parsecs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parsec)!) 10000 stars from the [HYG Database](https://github.com/astronexus/HYG-Database). 

The star-planes are randomly rotated though, and keep in mind that the center icosphere representing the earth is exaggeratingly big - by a small factor of about 1.5 billion!!

The (short and ugly) bit of python script I used to make this visualization is available on [PasteBin](https://pastebin.com/0vhdGz59) if anyone is interested!

I am quite happy with the look of this model, stars use a transparent/emissive material mapped to the vertex colors created in blender (from each star "color index" if available in the database), and enhanced with some bloom to create halos... 

Next ideas: plot 100.000 neighbor stars, and maybe the Milky Way from ESA's [Gaia Archive](http://gea.esac.esa.int/archive/). That'd be really awesome!

Logo: A picture of the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank is seen with a gold tint, and "ripples" slowly before rotating to reveal itself as the WB shield over the quintessential cloud skyline, both of which are now redone in CGI. The shield rotates and zooms out to its usual position, with the company byline fading in underneath.

Trivia: If one pauses right before the transition from the backlot image to the shield animation, posters and murals can be seen on the studio walls on Olive Avenue. As seen in the 75 Years montage, the posters from left to right are: Twister, The Stars Fell on Henrietta, Les Miserables, Space Jam, a The WB Television Network KTLA 5 advertisement, ER, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Murphy Brown, Friends, and a cloud mural featuring shows from Warner Bros. Television, dating the image to somewhere between early to mid 1996.

The camera is in a very particular spot so you can gaze up and look all around at our magnificent galactic neighborhood as our mother-ship planet tumbles through space and time, unfortunately I was not able to lock the camera in such a way that did not avoid clipping through the ground when looking up, so please don't zoom or pan the camera away from the position it is in, of course I encourage you all to rotate/look around with the camera though.

Stylized stones props

It took 4 days to make 2nd version of TCF 1994-2010 logo remake recreated and aesthetic. I use a Hollywood mountains and city to matched the original animation, i use the camera, plane for the sky and plain axes for the empty to matched the original fox 1994 camera animation. I use spheres for the stars on the sky. I rotated the camera animation at the beginning and middle scenes of the fox 1994 remake. The 2nd version remake is matched to the real logo.

This shed is part of a series of 20 custom houses which is developed and designed by me.

**Fully modular and scene setup**

The shed is created using a modular setup:
All the origins are placed in such a way that parts rotate and connect well .
Doors have their origins at their hinges.
Every part has both their object and data named. 

It is possible to import this into a game engine too. But keep in mind that some materials might need some manual work to make it look similar to the renders.

Scanned in just 25 minutes with the metrology-grade laser scanner Artec Point, the transmission's fine elements are all captured in this high-res 3D replica. The complex combination of components, from the gear sets to the shifting mechanism, is vividly displayed. 

Despite the transmission's shiny and reflective metallic cast and challenging surface roughness, Artec Point's advanced scanning technology captured all of it. The resulting point cloud was optimized for precision, even with a 0.2mm resolution. For future scans of similarly sized objects, we recommend a resolution of at least 0.4mm to reduce processing time.

Animated Flag

SISU GTP 4x4 Armored Vehicle of The Finnish Defence Forces. Engine, Dashboard, suspension and Drivetrain is pure fantasy since there were no good pictures of those yet available. First vehicle model that I've made without any kind of blueprints. If not anything else, I think it's the first and currently the only 3D model available of the SISU GTP. originally it can have different variations, where it is capable of carrying up to 8 soldier units. This is the Civilian model, which has 2+3 seats.

-Doors, Top Latch and hood can be opened. wheels can be rotated. (separated meshes)
-no uv's or textures. possibly sometime in the future.
-no real trademarks. SISU converted to SUSI, Which is finnish word for WOLF

SISU GTP 4x4 Armored Vehicle

Sketchfab does not yet import the GLB camera animations. As a workaround, this model keeps the camera fixed and instead moves and rotates the whole world.

IMPORTANT: adjusting the camera position/rotation will ruin the trick so do NOT click and drag with your mouse.

Clearly lighting goes wrong, it's not possible to have shadows on the ground and the background picture does not make sense but it still looks pretty cool and gives a nice demo of the power of camera animation.

BluffTitler 16.6.0.6 features a FAKE CAMERA checkbox in the FILE > EXPORT AS MODEL... dialog to automate this camera trick:
