This ship's project got into mercenary hands due to a leak from a prototype lab in fringe sectors. Nobody knows the details for certain, but rumour has it that the lab had a spy, who used to sell secret blueprints to the highest bidders. ‘Zeus’ research group was assembled to study Alien tech and their efforts made this ship possible. Blueprints allow to assemble various modifications of ‘Mjolnir’ which makes it one of the most expensive and desirable vessels.

Owl 'Zun' wine vessel, 13th-12th century BCE

Another personal project to improve my hard surface skills and learn some new techniques. After a long-standing debate between me and a few of my friends, if the falcon can actually be called a cargo ship (when all the interior space we were shown is full of benches, chessboards and capes), I tried to build what a cargo ship in this class could actually look like. What I came up with is the YTS-27 light freighter. I imagined this ship as a Joint Venture between Latero Spaceworks and the Corellian Engineering Corporation, taking design clues from the praying Mantis from Jedi: Fallen Order and corellian vessels like the CR90 and, of course, the Millennium Falcon. This particular YTS-27 light freighter was named after its first owner, a Kowakian monkey-lizard, who was barely smart enough to "maneuver" it off the landing pad. After extensive repairs and a good cleaning of the cockpit, it now has a far more capable pilot.

"General Ship Repair maintains the rich ship building tradition so long associated with the South Baltimore neighborhoods of Federal Hill and Locust Point. Charles “Buck” Lynch founded the company in 1924, moved to this location in 1929, lost the company to bankruptcy during the Great Depression and managed to buy it back at auction. Today, the fourth generation of the Lynch family operates the company at one of the last remaining industrial sites along Key Highway.
General Ship has repaired a variety of vessels through the years, including schooners, steamships, paddle wheelers, and supertankers. Workers perform maintenance work on ships in dry docks at this site in addition to sending crews out to other facilities. As of 2020 the facility, which includes a 17,300 square foot shed and two 1000-ton floating docks, repairs mostly workboats."

"The Separatist Council War Room was a secure command center located in the Klegger Corp Mining Facility on Mustafar during the Clone Wars. It was to here that the leaders of the Confederacy of Independent Systems retreated at the end of the conflict.

The war room was part of a secret command facility built onto the side of the Mustafar mining complex to act as a secure bunker for the Separatist Council. A landing pad was located outside the chamber, with a control room annex used to monitor approaching vessels. An observation balcony running the length of the war room's exterior provided a hellish view of the Mustafar mining operations far below."

Star Wars - Mustafar Control Room

King Gustav III of of Sweden took part in the archipelago fleet battles in 1789-1790 traveling with the fleet. He had two vessels, the larger schooner Amphion and a small yacht Amadis. This yacht was designed by F. H. Chapman. It is similar to other single mast relay and signal boats used by the Swedish archipelago fleet. King Gustav III was on board Amadis just behind the frigates at line of battle at the start of the battle. The Amadis had a single main mast with main, gallant and top, gavel behind and bowsprit and flysprit in bow.

Swedish royal yacht Amadis

This is all that remains of *SS Rifle*, one of the earliest surviving examples of a small pre-fabricated screw steamer in the British Isles. *Rifle* was purchased by the Locheil Estate in the 1860s for use on Loch Arkaig, ferrying goods, passengers and mail between the isolated dwellings around the loch. 

As well as being a practical vessel, *Rifle* was also used for pleasure, often carrying shooting parties. 

The boat was laid-up in the 1930s, and whilst being scrapped, sank and lay buried until removed by the army after becoming a hazard to wartime vessels working from the pier. *Rifle* was blasted away from the pier, losing the bow in the process. 

Despite being submerged for over half a century, it was raised in 1990. Although in a very fragile condition, *Rifle's* propeller is a well-preserved example of an early design. 

The model was created as a part of ‘Scanning The Horizon’ 3D digitisation project.

It is a model of a small copy that I found on a tourist market in Bejing

Ding were prehistoric and ancient Chinese cauldrons, standing upon legs with a lid and two facing handles. They are one of the most important shapes used in Chinese ritual bronzes. They were made in two shapes: round vessels with three legs and rectangular ones with four, the latter often called fanding. They were used for cooking, storage, and ritual offerings to the gods or to ancestors.

Chinese Bronze Ding Vessel

In fairy folklore, Queen Mab was the tiny fairy who visited people when they were asleep, fulfilling their wishes via their dreams. Perhaps the owners of this little yacht were fulfilling a dream of their own when they commissioned a half scale, 6-metre yacht!

Queen Mab’s unusual size has made it an object of interest, with historians suggesting that it was a prototype of the 6-metre yachts which became famous as racing vessels in the 20th century.

The presence of a wheatsheaf carving on the bow also led some to believe that it might have been built by renowned yacht builders William Fife & Son, but modern sources disagree. The real identity of the builder is a mystery, but Mab’s unusual toy-like size continues to fascinate and intrigue.

Queen Mab

Skull of a young alligator (Alligator mississippiensis, OUVC 10389) with annotations of some of the blood vessels. It was legally provided to us by the Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge for research and education. We scanned the head region on the OUµCT scanner at a resolution of 90µm (0.090 mm). Scan data were imported into workstations running Avizo and digitally extracted the bones and soft tissues. This specimen was used by David Dufeau during his dissertation research and then was used by Ruger Porter during his dissertation research on dinosaur blood vessels and their role in thermal physiology. This specimen was part of the sample included in the PLOS ONE article by Dufeau and Witmer (http://bit.ly/2dWhTNZ) and a Journal of Anatomy article by Porter, Sedlmayr, & Witmer (http://bit.ly/2e0WqVg). The original CT scan data can be downloaded on Dryad (http://bit.ly/2ebdnZS), along with a 3D PDF that provides comparable content to what’s here but allows more control. Alligator head vasculature - OUVC 10389

The team from the Museum's boatbuilding school have recently completed two skiffs as a joint project with Garnock Connections and Rathbone Training. 

Here you can have a closer look at the process behind the making of these skiffs. Their hulls are based on a traditional vessel: a Fair Isle Skiff, the model of which can be found in the  Scottish Fisheries Museum. It was constructed as a demonstration project in 2009 and started a true revival of the coastal rowing in Scotland. 

The original design of the skiff was modernised enabling anyone without a boatbuilding experience to take on a similar project with a bit of guidance from the experienced boatbuilders. Today people from all over the world build similar skiffs and regularly attend championships.

Traditional Boatbuilding: building skiffs

This 3D model represents the heart of a rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), created with anatomical accuracy for educational and scientific visualization purposes. The model is designed based on standard mammalian cardiac anatomy and is suitable for use in zoology, veterinary science, biology education, and comparative anatomy studies.

The heart clearly shows its external morphology, including the atrial and ventricular regions, major blood vessels, and overall realistic shape. The surface detailing and proportions are optimized to closely resemble a real rabbit heart while maintaining clarity for learning and demonstration.

Rabbit Heart

The model represents a traditional Japanese-style boat, likely inspired by historical fishing or river transport vessels. Its design features:

A long, narrow hull with a gently curved base, optimized for stability on calm waters.
Raised bow and stern, characteristic of Japanese wooden boats, to handle small waves and provide elegance in silhouette.

The deck area appears simple and flat, possibly with minimal seating or storage space — traditional to hand-rowed or pole-guided boats.

Smooth surfaces and symmetry suggest the model was created for display, rendering, or historical modeling, not as a mechanical part.

Its proportions indicate a small craft, perhaps for 1–2 passengers.

ERYX CRG Scrambler [Spacecraft Concept]

Solar Thermal Controller

The Model‑7 Domestic Habitat Engine, colloquially the retro‑future kitchen, was first prototyped in 2049 as part of the Atomic Comfort Initiative. Its scientific designation—Culinarium‑Automata Type R‑F/7—described a semi‑sentient workspace designed to predict household needs before they were spoken. Though marketed as a culinary marvel, its unexpected purpose was data‑driven emotional regulation: the system monitored stress and adjusted lighting, temperature, and even meal suggestions to stabilize mood.

The turquoise Nuclear Chill fridge stored ingredients in micro‑shielded chambers, while the chrome‑armed mixer performed tasks with eerie precision. Even the humble BREAD box doubled as a low‑power fermentation incubator. Pink pots on the stove weren’t decorative—they were heat‑responsive diagnostic vessels that changed hue to indicate nutritional balance.

Future-Retro Kitchen

In total anomalous pulmonary venous return, the pulmonary veins do not return to the left atrium. In the infracardiac (meaning “below the heart”) type, the pulmonary veins drain to vessels in the abdomen with the oxygenated blood returning to the right side of the heart. The only way for blood to get to the left side of the heart is by crossing through an atrial septal defect (ASD) between the top two chambers. 
Sometimes the abnormal pathway that drains the pulmonary veins is too small leading to what is called “obstruction”, where the blood cannot flow normally throughout the body and babies can become very sick in these cases. Obstruction is more common with the infracardiac type.

The massive clay object, which has been provisionally designated a "column", is of particular interest. A potential point of comparison is a mobile oven. However, the inner walls do not display signs of encrustation caused by slag, indicating that the object was not subjected to high temperatures. It's function remains unclear; however, it could be hypothesised that it is employed as a support for cooking vessels, or alternatively, that it constitutes an architectural element, as its form would suggest. The absence of adequate information makes it impossible to propose a definitive suggestion.

The vessel features a three-dimensional facial depiction and it is equipped with three strap handles, and each is affixed with small, spherical vessels at the upper part, which are not connected to the main vessel. The facial depiction was created using the barbotine technique. The eyebrows, nose, upper lip and beard are formed from a three-dimensional clay overlay, while the eyes and ears are also sculpted in this manner. The depiction is further enhanced by the application of impressions made with a spatula tip. Furthermore, on the body incised, schematic representations of trees, flowers and animals can be seen.

The Edgefield Pottery Collection is a collection of historic vessels with a variety of shapes, sizes, forms, and uses. A jigger mold was used to quickly mass produce these Albany-Slipware style stackers and jugs. The vessels in the Edgefield Pottery Collection did not pass their quality inspection when they were made and were discarded into a ‘waster pile’.
