The paper explores the concept of letting surgical stuff train in a virtual operating setting.
This is one of several general ORs in the Charité Campus Mitte (CCM), scanned in 2018. Shot with Nikon D3400 (500 images), reconstructed in Metashape, refined in Blender.

City Props Collection volume 1

Testing out some fake volumetric based on C++ generated noise images...

This does not look really impressive so far, but the technique seems to work fine and I guess that further experiments could only make for some future nicer models !

Note that using transparency planes (3 x 225 in this case!) is quite resource-intensive, and the model might only work fine on desktop.

Model Title: TCF 1994 Recreation (1st Version) The 1st version is matched to the original open matte logo. I matched the original TCF 1994 camera animation. When the logo is made in CGI, the Hollywood city is revealed. I make some structure parts metallic and polished. I use the volume scatter for the searchlights to make it completely transparent. (My Fixed Version)

I've made a skull after studying face anatomy. This is a rough representation just to understand how relations of planes form a volume.

After The God Particle...

Going on with some tests for the animation of an underwater scene, this time playing with particle system and forces in blender (with which I am not very familiar). 

The particle system I used to create this shoal of fish is set with a simple fish model (same as [Abstract aquarium](https://skfb.ly/6ypzL)) as render object. 

The fish particle system was set to a "**Boids**" physics, and tweaking parameters gave the unique fish a smooth movement. A **vortex force field** was then added to the scene to create the swirling motion on the particles. I also added a collision domain (as a cube) to make sure that no fish went outside of a specified volume, but it proved unnecessary...

I still have to figure out how to properly export keyframed animations to a fbx file, as the only file I managed to obtain was a 120MB one (for a < 100 tris fish model). A python script which has helped me is [here](https://blender.stackexchange.com/a/7142), but it does not pass the export phase very well...

Greek temple built with the volume cube node(using geometry nodes) in blender using basic distance field primitves and simple points instancing.

Given the recent scientific news and the fact that I'm on the "experimenting with volumetrics" path, I figured out that trying to reproduce space objects with simple force-driven particle simulation could be a fun exercise. Here are some first tests !

This object was made by moving 1000 particles around (rigid body rotation initial speed, one central repulsive force and two attractive ones), and "registering" their paths in an alpha voxels grid (225x225x225), which I finally mapped to textured planes for the volumetric effect.

A final central sphere was used with refraction parameters to create the center "black hole".

Might be resource intensive, sorry for that !

Not a Black Hole - 1

Scene is part of the #medievalfantasyscene contest. Medieval castle with village is inspired by fortress of Ostrozac and Lukomir village, both located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Scene with castle and village is placed high in mountains, where strong people used to harsh climate live and strong winds are blowing continuously through the mountains (you can actually hear wind if you turn volume up).

A 3D model inspired by the The Vast Land / [A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wang_Ximeng),  by Wang ximeng, a painter of the Norther Song dynasnty, China. Painted in 1113, Wang Ximeng was only 18 years old when he painted the master piece. To the disappointment of everyone, including the artist Emperor Huizong, who personally taught him, Wang Ximeng died shortly after, depriving us of any further masterpieces. The painting is now in Palace Musuem Beijin, and was influiential for many generations to come!

Used Blender mostly. Zbrush for modelling some details into the models. And because it had to come under 50k, I used the details of the models as Normals with the help of Substance Painter. All the models were textured in Substance Painter. *Clouds would have looked better if Sketchfab had Volume Shader; but this [Dithered Opacity] came out to be fine too, I would say* 😅.

Fantasy Mystical Island

Made in low poly and each with a single low res texture as buildable mapmarkers for a modding project for Hearts of Iron IV. I have placed the Eiffel Tower in the middle for a better size comparison and to show you, how gargantuan both buildings are.

The Palace of the Soviets was a project to construct a Administrative and convention center in Moscow. If built, the 416-metre (1,365 ft) tall palace would have become the world's tallest structure, with an internal volume surpassing the combined volumes of the six tallest American skyscrapers.

The Volkshalle ("People's Hall"), also called Große Halle ("Great Hall") or Ruhmeshalle ("Hall of Glory"), was a proposal for a monumental, domed building to be built in a reconstituted Berlin (renamed as Germania) in Nazi Germany. The project was conceived by Adolf Hitler and designed by his architect Albert Speer. Due to the enormous size of the building and the use of white granite and marble it could even have been seen from space.

City Props Collection (volume 2)

Homo erectus georgicus, the skull is dated to 1.77 million years old and it is in good condition. Museum of Natural Sciences (Brussels, Belgium). Made with CapturingReality.

The cranium was the smallest and most primitive Hominin skull ever discovered outside of Africa. In Africa, the Australopithecines and early Homo represent two distinctive evolutionary paths sharing a common ancestor. In Georgia the specimens, with a brain half the size of anatomically modern humans, were the smallest found at around 600 cm³ brain volume. The lenght is about 25 cm.

Homo erectus georgicus

I've created this heart with blender by creating the basic mesh first. Then I added a particle system inside the volume of the mesh and used the addon Animation Nodes to connect every particle with each other using smoothed curves. After that I gave the curve a bit of depth, turned it into a mesh again, uv unwrapped it and added an hdri for lighting. Finally I baked everything to a texture.
