Serrasalmus Compressus, prolly named after the shape of its body, though many piranhas share that, it also belongs to the carnivorous Serrasalmidae family of piranha fish and genus type is serrasalmus, known for having a strong bite and predatory behaviour. Wouldnt want to try and hand fed this one if it has not eaten for 3 days. In fact, when handeling another piranha species it bit a chunk out of my fingers when i was convinced i could just catch it with my aquarium net, first the net then my finger. And it was a cautionary bite, not to eat but to show it will not be fooled around with.

The Red Pacu Piranha (Piaractus Brachypomus), is not a real Piranha, despite belonging to the family  Serrasalmidae, this is a herbivor and actually a colorful one, harmless, often also called red-bellied Piranha or Red Piranha (Pygocentrus nattereri), its genus (Piaractus) tells us more factual information as well as the actual species which is Brachypomus, it can grown up to almost 90cm, and would not be recommended as a private aquarium fish unless you have spare space in Sea World

Marble Piranha (Marble Rhombeus). Just like the Rhombeus, only it seems to have been entangled and rendered with my marble textures from 3dsmax. That really seems to be the only difference, and the name ofcourse. If you get the chance to buy it you should, if you have enough money for it.

Cariba Piranha (Pygocentrus Cariba), same genus as the red belly Piranha, well the first part, though of the same family Serrasalmidae, it has a more dominant reddish color near its head and therefor gills and belly.

Rhombeus is translated as diamond, for the diamond shape of its body, though many piranhas have such a shape, this one is more prominent. Now i get this question at least once per century, and my answer has changed since i noticed one Black-Tailed Piranha having two accounts on the social network X, while not allowed they do happen to use social media, so my guess is that they are social

Silver Dollar (Mylossoma Duriventre)

The Pygopristis Denticulata is not as aggressive as most other piranhas but will eat anything. its family is serrasalmidae but its genus is pygopristis, from what i know its teeth are much smaller and finer than those of the more aggressive piranhas. That having said it is not a good idea to hand feed this one either, it is capable of some painful bites if cornered, which obviously would happen in the aquarium, unless its round ofcourse;) Your biggest challenge is obtaining one anyway

Same kind of almost-issue again with the name, the clearly visible red line on its flank makes this one belong to only one species, The Silver Dollar (Metynnis Argenteus), though with that detail nothing is done in its name. Very rare fish, i wonder if it were a valid means of paying, imagine yourself with a bag of these silver dollars in your local grocery store, buying ehm fish

The black spot near its gills makes this one stand out from the more common but still very rare Slender or Pike Piranha, the same latin name so this is a sub species. To buy one of these set me back over 300 euro's, it was transported by an impressive bmw and was its only load, that explained a lot. Different from most piranhas this i more of an einzelganger so best kept alone

Juvenile Gouldings Piranha  (Serrasalmus Gouldingi), or Blue Tiger Piranhas, are medium-sized predators with a striking metallic blue body and a somehwhat vague reflection, probably due to the settings of 3dsmax and then the roughness in particular. And faint vertical stripes reminiscent of tiger patterns, who in their turn are reminiscent of Tiger themself. Native to South American rivers, these piranhas are territorial and visually impressive, it is recommended that if you plan on a marathon watch [2 weeks or longer without sleeping and eating] that you buy a decent pair of sunglasses with UV blocker to keep your eyes from turning blue.

Piaractus Brachypomus, or the Red Pacu Piranha is not a real Piranha, though of the same family Serrasalmidae, its genus (Piaractus) and species (Brachypomus) are very different, though it gets mistaken a lot because of its identical looks, compare with the Red- Bellied Piranha for instance. Vibrant colors it has, its actually more of a herbivor, so kinda like  a red piranha with power saving energy constantly enabled. It will measure up to near 90cm which to me makes no sense in keeping privately, its weight can get 40 pounds, so unless youre in a castle...
