The Nissan GT-R is a high-performance sports car and grand tourer produced by Nissan, which was unveiled in 2007. It is the successor to the Skyline GT-R, although no longer part of the Skyline range itself, that name now being used for Nissan's luxury-sport market.

Special edition forged alloys by RAYS in 20-inch size are included. The standard GT-R's aluminium trunk lid is swapped out for a full carbon fibre panel and additional spot welds and adhesive help strengthen the chassis. A front splitter with carbon fibre air ducts up front add to the special NISMO full aerodynamic package, while a large racing style carbon wing completes the rear.

This Stegosaurus skeleton from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is more than 26 feet long and over nine feet tall. The bony beast is a permanent display with steel shaped around it, welded in place, and puttied together, making it impossible to take apart. Which means it was super difficult to scan! Triebold Paleontology, Inc. scanned the dinosaur using Artec Space Spider and Artec Studio software. The scanning involved crawling into the rib cage, then perching atop a step ladder just to reach the peaks of the big fan-shaped plates on the dinosaur’s back. The scanner captured everything from the nose to the tail spikes. Beyond aligning the scans, Artec Studio also reduced the mesh size to the desired level for manipulating the 3D model and 3D printing. Scanning time: 1 week - Processing time: 2 months (629 individual scans across 71 scan projects).

Stegosaurus Skeleton

This is the GG-1 electric locomotive prototype built by General Electric in 1934. Though later models had their body plates welded, this one was riveted giving it the nickname "Old Rivets". The GG-1 locomotive was manufactured from 1934 to 1943, and saw service for nearly 50 years, from 1935 - 1983.

Testing out a workflow from Oculus Medium using Xnormal and ZBrush's Dynamesh. All the stuff finally finished baking. Whew!

The original mesh was around 5 million triangles. My workflow here was:

* Export from Medium
* Bring highpoly into Max
* Weld verts (tons of unwelded)
* Import into ZBrush
* Convert to dynamesh for low-ish poly mesh
* Bring low into Max, split into 80k meshes and unwrap
* Bring into xnormal, bake Normal + Occlusion
* Convert  occlusion maps to grayscale to reduce file size (sketchfab limits to 50mb, and faster downloads are nice)
* Load up all the maps onto the sketchfab model

Welding is a permanent joining process that ensures the continuity of the material being joined; the weld is the resulting joint (although the term is often used for the process itself). Big Brothers Welder

This is a precise 3D clay render of the T-64 main battle tank, a revolutionary Soviet-era design known for its advanced features like the autoloader and compact profile. The function of this bronze fitting remains unknown. This object could be described as a 'piece of jewellery'. It is richly decorated and crescent-shaped. It was crafted using the repoussé technique. The two circles and the teardrop-shaped element in the middle could be interpreted as an anthropomorphic face, similar to early figurative Latène art. The artefact is composed of two thin bronze sheets that have been welded together. It was presumably attached using rivets made of leather or fabric.

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.
