This feature (MAHS-THA-STN-MUS-PUU-S-002-F-0001) is a Melayu-style wooden stilt house with open storage space below and later renovations using corrugated tiles and galvanized sheets. Its design reflects Perak influence through slender stilts, pinned joinery, and a carved side serambi. The northern entrance leads into a semi-public veranda and main hall with two bedrooms and a common area. Lap-sided wall panels, timber-framed windows with floral glass, ventilation laths, and an eastern mangrove-timber platform define its character.

Ko Puyu Local House, Satun, Thailand

This large stilt house complex (MAHS-THA-STN-LNG-PKN-S-001-F-0016) has four entrances, including access from an eastern ladder, a southern veranda, and rear routes connected through the kitchen. The main hall is enclosed by wooden walls and appears to have served multiple functions, including sleeping, while an enclosed room adjoins its southern side. The kitchen and rear areas are covered with galvanized metal sheets, and a southern storage extension uses cement boards. Open gable and sloped roofs cover the complex, with netting enclosing the space beneath.

This feature (MAHS-IDN-NTT-ROT-LHL-S-001-F-0001) is a square stone ruin built of coral-stone bricks, plaster, and mortar, with seven rooms, one large central room, and a veranda supported by cylindrical pillars. The north-facing building has lost its wooden frames, ceiling, and roof, and is now overgrown with trees and bushes. According to local resident Enny Tungga, it was built in 1938 during the Dutch colonial era as an administrative office, later called pesanggrahan or guest house, and known as Komboni during the Japanese colonial period. Nearby are school ruins and old graves.

Pesanggrahan, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia

This is one of my personal projects that I’ve been working on recently. It’s a low-poly desert city featuring a mix of desert-style houses, including single-story homes with rooftops and two-storey houses, some with verandas. The environment includes various natural and decorative elements such as trees, cacti, sacks, and pillars inspired by an ancient Roman-style layout.

To enhance the atmosphere, I’ve placed different types of water jars across the scene, adding variation and storytelling. The city is connected by cobblestone roads made with a variety of stone styles, giving it a more detailed and visually interesting look.

Overall, this is a small but creative project focused on building a stylized, immersive desert environment.

Low Poly Desert City

This traditional Melayu-style stilt house (MAHS-THA-PTN-MUP-KGM-S-001-F-0001) has an elevated floor, decorative gable ends, and a Manila roof combining gable and hip forms. European influence appears in its arched colored-glass windows. Its complex plan links the original northern and southern quarters by a corridor, with a modern western addition. Facing north, the house has a roofed veranda opening into a hall used for evening classes, while the older southern quarter served as the private residence. It also functions as a pondok associated with Islamic learning and local use.

Semela House, Pattani, Thailand

Phiphitphakdi Residence (MAHS-THA-PTN-SAB-TAL-S-002-F-0001) is a wooden-concrete residential building in Sai Buri, Pattani, raised on high brick pillars. The two-story rectangular plan includes a rounded western porch and an eastern curved staircase with red-painted steps. White wooden walls have long timber-framed casement windows with vegetal-carved panels above. Inside are halls, rooms, stairwell, dining area, veranda, balconies, and two upper bedrooms. Its cement-tiled hip-and-gable roof, carved air vents, and Malay, Javanese, and Western decorative influences define the residence.

Phiphitphakdi Residence, Sai Buri, Thailand

Kampong Atas Mosque (MAHS-THA-PTN-SAB-PAY-S-001-F-0001) is a rectangular wooden mosque raised on concrete stilts, with separate stairways and entrances for women on the east and for the imam and men on the south. Green plank walls are fitted with timber-framed casement windows and carved wooden ventilation panels. Inside, the prayer hall is divided by a curtain, with the mihrab enclosed at the western end, while a verandah serves as a recreational space. Its richly decorated hip-and-gable terracotta roof and outdoor ablution reservoir further define the structure.

Thatched Stilt House, Moken Village, Thailand

This traditional Melayu-style wooden stilt house (MAHS-THA-NWT-BCH-BCH-S-001-F-0001) stands on cement bases and faces west toward the main road. It has a spacious compound, a complex roof with multiple gable and hip intersections, and exterior walls finished with lap siding and shuttered windows. A mixed concrete-and-wood staircase leads to a sheltered verandah and main hall. Inside are sleeping, kitchen, wash, and bathroom areas. The front gate is marked by a wooden panel engraved with Arabic script.

Masjid Raja (MAHS-THA-PTN-SAB-TAL-S-001-F-0001), also known as Masjid Chao, is a historic mosque in Taluban, Sai Buri District, Pattani, Thailand. Built of wood and brick, it consists of a prayer mosque, surrounding verandah, and ablution pavilion. The interior includes a chamber with arched entrances, a main prayer hall, and a mihrab chamber with a raised wooden pulpit on a brick base. Its wooden roof structure is covered with terracotta tiles and includes several distinct hip-roof sections.

Masjid Raja, Pattani, Thailand

Wat Khok Khian’s ordination hall, or ubosot (MAHS-THA-NWT-MNT-KHK-S-001-F-0001), is a traditional Thai-style religious building in Narathiwat marked by eight boundary stones. The rectangular wooden hall stands on an elevated brick foundation enclosed by ceramic balusters, with staircases on all four sides leading to a verandah. Yellow-painted walls, folding doors, terracotta-tiled gable, wing-shaped, and awning roofs, Thai decorative elements, Buddha images, stucco disciples, murals, and ceiling paintings define the space.

Wat Khok Khian, Narathiwat, Thailand

Wat Chonthara Singhe’s ordination hall (MAHS-THA-NWT-TKB-CHH-S-001-F-0001) is a brick-built rectangular Buddhist structure facing northeast toward the river. Enclosed by low walls and boundary stones, it has raised verandahs on all sides supported by rectangular pillars on lotus-shaped bases. Inside, a Subduing Mara Buddha image stands on an elevated base with stucco figures of Moggallana and Sariputra. Murals and ceiling paintings depict the Buddha’s life, the Three Worlds, devas, and mythical beings, while the terracotta-tiled roof features ornate gable pediments with Indra on Erawan.
