"Assyrian kings ruled the world's largest empire prior to the rise of Persia in the 6th century bc, consolidating lands from Iran to Egypt [...] Masterfully executed with incised details and exaggerated musculature, this giant, fierce, protective spirit raises his right hand in a ritual salute. His left hand grasps a branch bearing rosettes, perhaps a stylized date palm. Across the center of the relief are inscribed lines of Akkadian cuneiform recounting military victories, conquests, plundered loot, and the reconstruction of the city. Destroyed in 612 bc, the palace lay buried for 24 centuries until rediscovered in 1845."

In my previous cat model I stated I was inspired by the art of TateOfTot, this time I made a character that was outright made by him/her. I think her name is Persipia, and is a siamese cat made by TateOfTot.

I did not spend as much time on shape keys, so only blinking, smiling, and mouth opening this time. Character is rigged, although the coat has poor weights, and I had a headache trying to improve them.

In Thorvaldsen’s work, Alexander the Great is mainly associated with the  so-called Alexander Frieze from 1812. What is portrayed here is a rather different aspect of Alexander’s personality: In the Alexander Frieze, Alexander arrives at Babylon as a peace-loving hero - indeed, as a god. In this relief, Alexander is drunk, and is allowing himself to be tempted by his mistress to carry out a terrible deed, namely, to set fire to the Persians’ capital city, Persepolis. Among the other figures, we can see Alexander’s friend Parmenio, who is attempting to restrain him; while on the far left a Persian can be seen leaving in despair.

#4 - Battle between Greeks and Persians, 320 BC

A [Lamassu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamassu) is a gaudian god typical of the mesopotamian region, shared between the Persians, Assyrians, Babylonians and in a form even egyptions. It usually gaurds the gates of the city, or the royal palace. 

There are several Lamassus in very good shape in Europe but all are assyrian or babylonian. Unfortunantly the only persian one (in Persepolis, gates of all nations) is quite damaged and some details are not cleared. To make this I took an Assyrian Lamassu as a base, studied the Persian one and made the adjustments. Some major difference are: The persian one is larger, the wings are bend, crown is different, and so is the front of the Lamassu.

Sylvanian Persian Cat Baby

Built in the 19th century by the Nazaretian Family during the Ottoman times in the city of Aintab (Gazinantep, Turkey), this model features the house's balcony, a women's salon, and the Office of Kara Nazar (AKA Nazar Agha) who served as the ambassador of Persia and vice consul of the US. Nowadays, the house hosts the [Papirus Cafe](https://goo.gl/maps/HQFk8C5VEMqnVmU49). 

I visited the house in 2022 with a local historian Murad Ucaner who gave an incredible walkthrough of the house, its history and its aftermath in the context of the Armenian genocide. You can watch it on my Youtube channel - https://youtu.be/mMHs9DEYwm4

This photogrammetry scan was made with 900 images captured with a handheld Sony A7rii and processed with RealityCapture. The model is scaled 1:1.

The Nazaretian House - Gaziantep, Turkey

Garnet is a main character and one of the three primary mascots in the Sanrio Jewelpet franchise. She is a stylish, pink female Persian cat who represents the power of love and is associated with the January birthstone. Known for her signature red ribbon, she is portrayed as fashionable, sassy, and brave.

## Scanning
Scan was done in IR mode with 3mm resolution and large mode, Rigil was used standalone. For tracking only feature tracking was used (texture would have helped but the light was dim and flickery (fluorescent tubes be thanked) so no real help...). This created a bit of a challenge when scanning the tar large flat parts of the couch. The persian carpet would have provided enough texture but it couldn't be used for tracking due flickering of the light tubes. Scan itself took roughly 5min.

## Post-Processing
Just point cloud generation and meshing at recommended settings (meshing as semi-watertight) on my workstation (simply faster than on device). After meshing I did a quick texture optimization and alignment within Exscan Rigil.

Described as bipedal, with a footprint of 38 to 45 cm and nocturnal behavior, sightings have persisted since the 19th century, although without definitive scientific proof.

Modeled from images of a real specimen. The Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) was a large, shaggy-haired relative of modern elephants that inhabited the cold steppe-tundra of the Northern Hemisphere during the Ice Age. It declined due to a combination of climate change at the end of the last glacial period and pressure from human hunting, with small isolated populations surviving into the Holocene. The last known population persisted on Wrangel Island until around 4,000 years ago before going extinct. Base model created with AI tools, then sculpted/edited in Blender for scientific accuracy. A small, unmarked rock just above 
Rock 29.  I noticed this deer carving, which is deeply incised and quite different in style to other depictions of deer in Valcamonica.  It is obviously relatively recent but a clear illustratration of the long persistence of the rock carving tradition in the valley, even up to modern times.
