At the center appears the image of a water lily leaf surrounded by three flowers with open corollas and three stamens. This motif, enclosed within a circle, is framed by a decorative band that extends across the entire interior wall surface, featuring crossed bones, bulging eyes, and what appear to be the eyes of supernatural beings with baton- or reptilian-shaped irises. A red band runs along the rim. The supports are conical, slotted, and rattle-type.

Plate with Death Motifs

Polychrome tripod plate with curving, flaring walls and conical supports. The interior decoration portrays a seated figure wearing an elaborate headdress and circular ear ornaments, with flexed arms, a short skirt, and red body paint applied to the skin. The figure is encircled by three red circles and framed by a decorative band composed of four paired vertical panels in orange with black on a cream ground, alternating with vertical red bands. At the center of the plate is an intentionally made circular perforation, corresponding to the act of “killing” the vessel, a practice commonly associated with intentional deposits. NAA of the ceramic paste indicates a likely area of manufacture in the vicinity between Caracol and Nakúm, in eastern Petén.

The decoration features, at the center, the head of the deity K’awil in left profile, painted in dark orange with black spots resembling jaguar skin, as well as red ribbons and feathers. The image is encircled by a band composed of black and red oval figures with serrated edges and internal dot patterns, alternating with panels bearing cruciform designs.

Polychrome tripod plate (white, red, and black on an orange ground), with divergent walls and a flat base. The base features the image of a jaguar shown in right profile, in an upright and dynamic pose, holding a decapitated head. The central scene is framed by two thin bands, one red and the other segmented in black and white. The interior wall is decorated with a thicker band composed of alternating panels with K’in symbols and elements that appear to represent feathers. At the center of the plate is an intentionally made circular perforation, corresponding to the act of “killing” the vessel, a practice commonly associated with intentional deposits.

Tripod Plate with Dedication Formula

Tripod polychrome plate (red and black on orange slip). At the center, it displays a long-beaked aquatic bird (possibly a cormorant) facing right and painted in red, bearing the face of a deity on its chest. The central figure is encircled  by a decorative band divided into two sections: one featuring motifs associated with the celestial band and the other painted in solid red. Surrounding this composition is an additional band that covers the entire interior wall, composed of eight alternating panels: four in solid red and four containing pairs of glyphs outlined in black.

Zoomorphic Plate with Movable Bird Head

Codex-style tripod vase featuring a supernatural scene with 4 figures. The principal figure is an aged deity with a black-painted face and a serpentine body, identified as K’awil, holding a shell in his left hand, which he plays as a trumpet. Facing him is what appears to be a tripod plate, of which only a bulging eye and a femur are visible. A second figure is a feline zoomorph, possibly a puma due to the absence of characteristic spots, shown dancing and holding a skull in the right hand. Finally, a jaguar with a serpent coiled around its neck is shown encircling a seated human figure at the lower portion of the scene.  A red horizontal band runs above and below the rim, as well as along the lower portion of the wall. The surface has been repainted in some sections.

Plate with Hunal Ye

A polychrome tripod plate decorated with the image of a seated  nobleman or ruler,  in frontal view  but with his head  looking to his right. His body is painted in dark orange, and holds a Plumeria or Nikte flower with his outstretched arm. The character wears jewelry and a white cloth headdress with orange stripes. The rectangular bench or throne where he sits is painted white (representing the surface covered with stucco) with decorative stripes in red and orange. Behind him is a cushion or pillow made of white cloth with orange stripes, covered with jaguar skin. NAA of the paste indicates that the pottery workshop where it was made was in the vicinity of La Corona archaeological site, Petén.
