The Great Drawing Room has the most sumptuous interior in the house. It was a setting for entertaining, music and dancing. The room is inspired by the magnificent [Baroque](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baroque) style of the late 17th century. This style provided a suitable opulent backdrop for big parties.

The Great Drawing Room

This was intended as a room for socialising for gentlemen. Those who did not participate in the game could watch from the wall-mounted bench.

The Billiards Room, like [The Dining Room](https://skfb.ly/6uLDI), is done in  a style between [Renaissance](https://goo.gl/9XS59E) and early [Baroque](https://goo.gl/BVsvH2). Note that the windows in both rooms are made up from round antique [lights that have been framed in lead](https://goo.gl/G86YdL).

The Billiards Room

**Welcome to [The Hallwyl Museum](https://goo.gl/qbZSY4) in Stockholm, Sweden.**

Once the home of [Walther](https://goo.gl/79nUeT) and [Wilhelmina von Hallwyl](https://goo.gl/Y8iiJs).

Walther and Wilhelmina took their daily meals in The Dining Room as well as when entertaining. They were often three at the table, as the lady's companion Ida Uhse dined with them. On festive occasions the table would be set for more people. The table could be extended and seat about [30 guests](https://goo.gl/Tpf7i2).

The reception rooms are all decorated in the historicist manner, meaning that the rooms are inspired by different historical periods. The Dining Room is decorated in the [Baroque](https://goo.gl/sTMdAC) style. It is a somber style suitable  for formal dinners. 

The walls are panelled in oak with details of [black bog oak](https://goo.gl/G2SLhm).

In the Lužánecký park in Brno there is a fountain with a sculpture of three putt (a naked child similar to an angel, but usually without wings.) A popular decorative element in the Baroque, Rococo and historical times of the 19th century, originated as a Renaissance analogy of ancient Eroes and medieval angels Symbolizes the child wearing the corner of abundance) from 1860 by F. Melnik

The Saint-Vincent Gate is a classical / baroque city gate from Vannes, Brittany, France. It was built in the 16th/17th century through the medieval wall to facilitate access between the city and the old port.

The church of Piovà Massaia, attributed to Benedetto Alfieri, is dedicated to Saints Peter and George and was built between 1749 and 1774 on the initiative of Count Ricci, on the site of the ancient church of San Michele in Monte Cornigliano.
The building has the typical baroque plan of an elongated Greek cross and an imposing octagonal dome covering the intersection of the arms of the cross.
The two-bay presbytery has a barrel vault and dome with an elliptical base and ends with a semicircular apse with a ribbed semi-vaulted vault.
The galleries have barrel vaults and have carved and painted wooden balustrades.
The façade has two superimposed orders and three bodies with three entrances a large circular window and a tympanum at the top.
The imposing bell tower, whose construction began in 1779, recalls the Juvarra examples of Superga and the Alfierian one of San Gaudenzio in Novara.
At the top of the bell tower is the lantern delimited by angular volutes and surmounted by a metal spire.

Chiesa dei S.S. Pietro e Giorgio a Piovà Massaia

A 3d scan made from photos taken in 2019 by Abi Glen and Jennifer Wexler whilst on the AHRC post doctoral creative economy engagement fellowships. Processed in November 2022 by Daniel Pett in Capturing Reality. This represents a Baroque dining table scene from the Feast and Fast exhibition held at the Fitzwilliam Museum in 2019-2020 curated by Vicky Avery and Melissa Calaresu. The table is the work of the great Ivan Day.

Baroque statue of Hercules and Calliope in the garden of Belvedere Palace.

In Greek and Roman mythology, Hercules is a hero who received divine honors and was accepted into Olympus. His attributes are the fur of the Nemean lion and the club. He was the son of Zeus and the Alkmene. 

Calliope is one of the nine daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne. She is the muse of poetry, science and philosophy. She is the oldest and wisest of the nine classical muses and was therefore the judge in the dispute between Aphrodite and Persephone over Adonis.

Herkules und Kalliope

The current church of La Barbolla (Siguenza, Spain), in baroque style, was built between 1744 and 1750, having been designed by the architect Antonio Martínez, who died in 1746, before seeing his work completed.

Previously there was another church, which due to being in poor condition had to be repaired in 1680. Possibly from this primitive church, which has completely disappeared today, comes a curious tombstone, decorated with two skulls and two tibias, which says: “Mrs. Librada Ruiz, wife of Mr. Domingo López, is buried here, died on June 23, 1591. Requiescan in pace.”

La Barbolla Church, Siguenza Spain

Gateway to the University of Applied Arts Vienna as part of the Heiligenkreuzerhof. The Heiligenkreuzerhof is a courtyard ensemble in the center of Vienna. It is located between Schönlaterngasse and Grashofgasse and is today surrounded by a complex of the monastery courtyard, prelature, chapel and apartment building. The Heiligenkreuzerhof is often referred to as the oldest apartment house in Vienna. It was built in the 12th/13th century and has belonged to the Cistercian monastery of Heiligenkreuz since that time. The medieval cellar vaults still date from this time. In 1587 stonemasonry work was carried out by Italian masters. However, a large part of the courtyard, the chapel and the prelate's courtyard were demolished in the Baroque period and rebuilt by order of the abbots of Heiligenkreuz Monastery from 1659 to 1676. The courtyard got its present appearance only after further reconstructions in 1769-1771, from which time the facades also date.

Sant Pere d’Alcántara, Museu Frederic Marès

The Indrica Catholic Church, located near the Daugava River , is the oldest extant wooden church in Latgale. Constructed between 1655–1658 and 1698 , it remains the oldest wooden structure in Latvia not rebuilt since the 17th century. This Baroque three-aisle hall-type log building features a polygonal apse and horizontal plank cladding. The facade is marked by a three-stage tower with a bell-shaped roof. Internally, a high degree of authenticity is preserved, including a rich wood-carved altar from the Stelmužė school and a crypt housing the Counts Plater family burials. The ensemble includes a fieldstone masonry fence and a unique three-stage bell tower. Despite a 1989 fire, the structure is in satisfactory condition following roof reconstruction. Current maintenance needs include addressing paint delamination and cleaning gutters from larch needle accumulation.

The Indrica Catholic Church

The statue of St. Paul stands on the historic parish steps on Berggasse in Mistelbach and is one of the small Baroque monuments at the entrance to St. Martin’s Parish Church on the Kirchberg. The steps have been an important access point to the church for centuries and were renovated in 1724. As part of this Baroque redesign, two figures of apostles were erected: St. Peter and St. Paul. The ensemble of steps and figures is now a listed historic monument.

The statue of St. Paul displays the apostle’s typical attributes. In his hand, he holds a sword, symbolizing his martyrdom in Rome, as well as a book, which refers to his letters in the New Testament.

The statue was created in the 18th century by the sculptor Johann Martin Fischer. His works are characterized by lively movement, richly detailed robes, and expressive faces.

Hl. Paulus

The Statue of St Philip by Giuseppe Mazzuoli (c. 1703–1711) is housed in the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran in Rome. This 4.25-meter marble statue was part of Pope Clement XI's commission for twelve colossal apostle figures to fill the niches designed by Francesco Borromini
. Mazzuoli was among the leading sculptors involved in the project. The statue exhibits a solemn grandeur, reflecting the transition from late Baroque to classicism. The final version was completed in 1711, with a reduced marble copy made for the patron now in Nuremberg.

聖腓力像 St Phillip Statue in Laterano, Rome

The Nepomuk Chapel in Mauerbach is a small Baroque structure from the early 18th century and was built around 1722. It is one of the typical open canopy chapels erected in honor of Saint John of Nepomuk, an important patron saint of bridges and water. The chapel is open on all sides through round-arched openings and is supported by pillars, giving it a pavilion-like character. Inside stands a statue of the saint, who is venerated as a martyr and patron saint against water-related dangers.

A surrounding balustrade delineates the sacred space and is adorned with decorative putto figures, which, as cherubim, symbolize the heavenly sphere. The chapel is a typical example of Baroque popular piety and remains a culturally and historically significant monument to this day.

The Statue of St Matthewby Camillo Rusconi (c. 1703–1711) is housed in the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran in Rome. This approximately 4.5-meter marble statue was part of Pope Clement XI's commission for twelve colossal apostle figures to fill the niches designed by Francesco Borromini. Rusconi was a central sculptor in this project. The statue presents a solemn depiction of the former tax collector and Evangelist, often characterized by holding a book or money bag. It masterfully blends Baroque dynamism with classical equilibrium, making it a exemplary work within the series.

The Statue of St Thomas by Pierre Le Gros the Younger (c. 1703–1711) resides in the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran in Rome. It was part of Pope Clement XI's project to fill Borromini's niches with twelve colossal apostle statues, sponsored by King Peter II of Portugal. Le Gros was the only sculptor who successfully refused to work from the prescribed drawings by Carlo Maratta. His initial, highly emotional Baroque terracotta model was rejected. The final marble statue is more restrained: St Thomas holds a carpenter's square, with ordered drapery. His distinctive finger protrudes from the niche, pointing toward the altar, symbolizing moving beyond doubt on the path of faith.
